Since it was in 2D it was difficult to implement multiple zoom factors since every zoom factor needed new graphics for every single asset that gets zoomed out. After you find the control panel option, you could try going back to KeepRes=0 and see if it looks like what you want.Īnd sadly the game has only 2 zoom features. It mostly works but it Civ III was never intended to be played on widescreed, hence the black bars and weird city screen. The KeepRes option scales the game to your current resolution. I would first see if there is such an option on the control panel of the card. It seems the utility you used changed that to "keep aspect ratio" instead of "stretch". Most modern cards have a configuration option on their control panel to change when the display resolution is different from the monitor native resolution.
